A hunting we will go, a hunting we will go.....

We were going to a friend's house for dinner when we spotted the 'famous' herd of elk that roams the fields and farms above our old house. They were actually on our old street one field up from our old house. Jake decided to go four-wheeling and see how close we could get. The wind had been blowing all day and created many drifts, some as deep as four feet. As Jake would say though, nothing is impossible with him. It was pretty fun, although Kirsten wasn't too fond of it and called it 'boring'. I was very impressed with the new suburban. We had to go off the road at times (to pass others that wouldn't take the challenge thru the drifts) but we ended up getting pretty close and the important thing....not stuck. We walked up the crest to get some closer pictures so they wouldn't run any further. What some will do for a picture, right? It's times like this I really miss the country and our old house (neighborhood).

We got out of the suburban and walked up over the crest where they had gathered. This is a close up of how close we could get to them. Posted by Picasa

This was the herd of elk in the fields above our old house. There was probably a good 400 head of elk. Posted by Picasa

Miracles do happen! I talked Jake into going to our old ward Valentine Dance. His response was "I will go but don't expect me to dance." He actually made it out on the dance floor twice. I was surprised! (Hey, you have to be grateful for the litle things.) Posted by Picasa

After we came home from a ward dance. The kids had crashed. I guess they were up past their bedtime. Jake wanted a picture of all the kids. Kirsten crashed on the stairs. Posted by Picasa

Kirsten crashed on the stairs. She was out cold.  Posted by Picasa

I got the best gift of all! Hugs and Kisses! This kiss was a big fat wet one that Cruz planted on me! Posted by Picasa

A hug from Cruz...and thats not all.... Posted by Picasa

A bear hug from Kirsten! Posted by Picasa

A hug from McKay! Posted by Picasa

Cruz got a pair of new pajamas. He was more intrigued by the balloons. On every trip to Walmart we have a dilema when he sees the helium balloons. He actually will call them "oons". We let him carry one around until it's time to go....and then you can imagaine how he acts. Posted by Picasa

Kirsten got a Dora memory game. We play memory all day long. Dad was getting sick of the My Little Pony memory because he didn't know all the names. Must be a girl thing. Posted by Picasa

We had a good Valentines. Our kids were anxious to open their cards from the grandparents. Thanks again! Like I said before we do small gifts and not candy. McKay got a couple pair of new shoes. She hates laces. Each kid got a balloon as well. Posted by Picasa

McKay as a clown.....complete with the wig. The scary part was this was my Halloween costume when I was her age. I loved rainbows. Posted by Picasa

Kirsten in a clown wig. The kids got out all the dress up clothes last week and had fun. They would put on a costume and say "Mom take a picture of me like this..." Posted by Picasa

Kirsten again as a princess. I love her face on this one. Posted by Picasa

Happy Valentines Day!!!!

Just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Valentine's Day! The kids loved the gifts from the grandparents. Thank you! As every year we get the kids a small gift instead of candy. I am not fond of it. It dissappears too fast and they get plenty in school!

In our daily life, we are still looking at options to building and buying. We are looking back in the old area we were in. We miss the country and the quietness and the area. It was far enough away from town but still close enough. I have come to acknowledge I am not a city person. I don't like a lot of neighbors. Living where we live, made me realize just how happy I was before. I guess hindsight is always 20/20. I am not anxious anymore. Being pregnant has mellowed me out quite a bit. Go figure.

On another note, four more weeks and we are half way. That is also when our ultrasound will be. I am excited for the half way mark because that is usually when I start feeling better! Then you can actually start planning for them.

Happy Valentines again and I hope that everyone has a fun and "lovely" day! We love and miss everyone!

The last time we went to Utah, McKay went and had her hair done with me. She got a super cute haircut and a few highlights put in. She was in seventh heaven. Her haircut was just like Aspen's. A slight A-line with it stacked in the back. Posted by Picasa
