La Brea tarpits. This museum was quite interesting. We also had a "star" encounter here.

Not such a smart move here. 
We went and visited Grandma on Wednesday. McKay enjoyed a game of scrabble with her while the other kids loved playing with Kilee.
We went to the Santa Monica pier. We opted out of Disneyland this year and decided to do that another time when we had a couple of days to spend there.
On the Ferris wheel.
This was one of my favorites. In Arcadia, there is a neighborhood that you can feed the peacocks from your car. The kids loved it as well.
After 11 days of running away, we made it back home. Before we left Kirsten said, "Mom, you can't run away from winter!"
Well, we sure tried. : )

I miss California but there is not really winter here so we have no excuse to run away. I used to take the kids to La Brea Tar Pits all the time. We really liked it.
So what was your "star" encounter? I've never seen a "star" in real life.
i was sad that i missed seeing you guys - but my kids had fun seeing you.
and winter is the best time to go to the SM pier.

We are sad we missed you guys too. McKay loved playing with Ara. They got along really good together. I'm glad they came over because she was missing having some cousins her age there.
We ran into the guy that plays Mike in Desparate housewives. We were in the theater room and Katanya was throwing a fit. He came in and sat by us with his kids. He even commented on Katanya and her fit. Half way thru the movie, Jake whispered a little too loudly, "Hey, that's Mike from....." I think he heard him because as soon as the movie was over he jetted out leaving his kids to catch up with him. We wouldn't of gone up to him of course, but I understand how they feel.
Ooh, James Denton. I don't watch DH, but he's a definite hottie. Good star to encounter.

Sorry earl we had planned on stopping back in to say hi but by the time we finally got out of LA we had to high tail it home to get back in time for school. Nonetheless we really appreciated your hospitality. Thanks
