Meet the sweet treats.

Jacob finally broke. How you ask????
Kirsten made a list of what she needed to own a kitty and how she would take care of it and pay for it.  She also included how she had already found some on Craig's list (she's taking after her dad) and then closed her sweet letter by saying, "That she would love it so much she would even name it."  Then she left it on his pillow.
So on the way home from a cousin's baptism from San Antonio, we went out of the way to Elgin (I guess free cats are hard to find in Texas.  They had them out like candy in Idaho) and somehow one cat turned into two.  But the stipulation was, they had to be boys.  No girls.  No multiplying.
So meet Krackel and Rolo.
Kirsten wanted to name them after candy and we all thought it was a cute idea.  This is Rolo.  He has the white on him.
This is Krackel.  The kids love them, the cousins love them, and the neighbors love them.  They have been plenty spoiled.  (And yes, they are outside cats.)

Meow x 5

Over the fourth of July weekend, Jacob found kittens for the kids. We had to drive down to Blackfoot to pick them up. We took all five so it left one for each kid and one for a family cat. (Or in other words, an extra for when something happens to one of the cats.) There are Zurc, Claire, Hadlee, Oreo, and Princess Lily. As long as we've had cats outside there haven't been mice in the house but for the past year that we have had zero cats, it seems that we been fighting a losing battle with these pests.

P.S. This post is dedicated to Hazel since Betsy and her family will be coming up soon. She loved the kittens when she came up a couple years ago.

P.P.S. It posted a day later but the time stamp itself is real. It's finals week for Jacob and it looks like no one is sleeping Monday night. I'll be so happy when someone is a little less grumpy and he can relax for a month or so.

P.P.P.S. Check back tomorrow for the "locker vision."

Max

Max was everybody's favorite kitten. Furry, friendly, and a little fiesty. He was a shrimper; he loved to like your toes. I'm sad to say that Max didn't make it across the road last night. He's now in kitty heaven, playing with the rest of his family. This summer in June, we had 6 cats, we are now down to one. Four have been tragedies of vehicles. Although the last one, Hannah, is pregnant so our count won't be down too long.
****P.S. Yellow tabby cats are always my favorite. I had one growing up as well.

OUR KITTEN WARS

This is in honor of Karl's kitten war that Jake spent many of clicks on. Remember a couple weeks ago when Jack had her babies? Okay, it's been a month but time flies. They are growing up and getting more playful every day. I've always said I won't have more than 4 cats (outside of course) at my house but how do you choose two to get rid of?
This is Cruz's kitten "MAX". He's a toe licker. Cruz loves to treat him like a baby.I often wonder if this kitten will make it to a cat for as much as Cruz "loves" it.Addy is McKay's. I'm digging the blue blue eyes.Kirsten named hers Hannah. She looks a lot like the mom, Jack.I think this one is my favorite. He would technical be Katanya's. Right now, Katanya can't hold the cats because of a bully streak. She's been watching too many baseball games the past weeks and loves to throw things. We still need to name this one.
