It finally warmed a little (Wednesday we had snow) and I got my kids and husband together last night and snapped a few family photos. Now I don't know if I go with the color or the black and white. Also I welcome any opinions on which one you like. I have my favorites but I always seem to pick the wrong one. So like I said....Opinions are VERY welcome....

Amy and Jake---what beautiful lighting and composition and you did it with out any help, impressive. I like one and two the best, but those are the only ones that wouldn't let me click on them and see them larger. I also love that the pictures were taken on your homestead! Very cool.
Erika, Do you like the black & white one or the color? You are more of a pro than I am so I was wondering your view on it. I can't figure out how to fix the first two so you can enlarge them. Sorry. Thanks though!

I personally like the very last one. I think that the silly ones show personalities the best. As for the others, I like the one with the horse showing his face through the fence. I like the color pictures better in general. The lighting is great. But when you convert them to black and white, there isn't enough contrast to make them really stand out. I also like the backgrounds, the pasture one is my favorite. I would photoshop out the big bus going by in the background. They are great pictures in general! Good job. Makes me wish I was up there with you.

I have to put a little note in and when we were taking the "silly" shot I didn't know that Jake said funny faces til after the fact. That's why I didn't do one.

Betsy, also is there a way of getting a photo back in color after I did the black and white. I made a big mistake (Jake let me know all about it). Any help is great. Thanks.
I think that Jake looks the same in every picture but the last one.
I like the first and the last.
I definitely like the color ones best. The sky, field, etc. look great in color. If you were to do black and white, I'd deepen the contrast (easy to do on any photo software--I just use the free one, MSN Picture whatever).
Also, the fence ones would look cool in B&W with starker contrast.

I like the first one and the last one. I agree with Betsy that the funny faces show the personalities the best. This is why I'm always fine with pictures when my kids are crying. I look back at them now and remember those faces that I seemed to see more than the smiles. You look cute in all of them.
I LOVE your family photos. What a great idea to take them on your property. Kind of a fitting way to celebrate your first year there.
I have to agree about the color. The first one in color is my favorite.

I just recently ordered our family picture and paid the extra $5 (done by size. ours was a 16 x 20) to get the metalic paper. Jeff and I love it.
