No more renting!

It's official! Yesterday we signed our lives away and purchased a house with 18 acres. The main attraction was all the land that came with the house. The sad part is as soon as we purchased the house we started the demolitian phase. Jake is going to do a little (I say that as I remember his Duchesne house) remodeling. The house is built in the mid 70's and was a little outdated. Our plans are right now, to replace all the carpet, paint everything, remodel and update the kitchen, knock out a few useless walls, and update the bathrooms. Our goal is to be done and moved in by May 15th!

I have taken a few of the demo pics from yesterday. We took the kids out and let them help. They didn't know what to think. They were pounding hammers in the walls and pulling up carpet. Everything that parents have told them not to do, they were able to. At first the girls were asking why we bought this house if we were just ruining it. Hopefully they will have a different view once it is done.

Our other plan is in a year or so, we can build the house that we really want on the remaining acreage. Then sell off 2 acres and the house and have a new house in the area that we like.

Anyway it's been nice and rainy here also. This morning we woke up to snow, which was a big disappointment. I am looking forward to spring and all the warm weather! All we can do is keep waiting and hope.

well at least you don't have to worry about noisey neighbors anymore. what would it be like to have that much land. Good luck with the house. I like to watch the Hone and Garden station when people do this kind of thing. I think it is fun to see the end result.

i hope you have fun with your new property. we have a love/hate relationship with ours.

Some days we love where we live, others we think it would be nice to live in a nice condo, with a patio.

I guess you're only happy inside, doesn't matter where you live.
